CATEGORIES:
Photo Essay – any subject, except travel, with or without commentary and/or music.
Travel Essay – a time-travel sequence, of a place, people or geographical area with or without commentary and /or music.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:
Any member of a member NWCCC Club in good standing.
Enter as:
An individual – the work of one person.
A group - submit a collaborative entry with several makers
A camera club
Only digital AV shows will be accepted.
Shows may consist of images, music, movie clips and/or narration.
Shows may be shorter than but no longer than 4 minutes.
All images must be the maker’s own images.
DO NOT include the makers name in the show.
Shows will be accepted with or without music credits. But it is advisable to include them.
You must indicate on your registration form the category you are entering. (You may enter one show in each of the above mentioned categories.)
On you CD/DVD write the title of the show and your name with a felt pen.
Completed entry form must accompany your entry.

JUDGING AND SCORING
Maximum 100 points and will be scored using the following point system:
Photographic Mastery: 35 points (quality of image - composition, exposure, impact.)
Production Skills: 30 points (music usage, synchronization, transitions techniques,)
Entertainment Value: 25 points (tells a story, expresses a theme, educates the audience, creates a mood or emotion, or generates humor)
Originality: 10 points (to give the judges an opportunity to reward shows that are extra special in some other way)
Judging by three judges who are not affiliated with NWCCC.
AWARDS
Rix Showcase Award. Donated by past NWCCC Board Member Howard C Rix, FPSA. This will be awarded to best overall show entered.
First, second and third place and honorable mentions will be awarded in each of the two categories.
SHOWINGS
If you are an award recipient you will be contacted to provide your entry to include the maker’s name in the credits. These shows will be shared at the NWCCC Conference – November 10, 2012
INDEMNITY
NWCCC or its volunteers are not responsible for failure of receipt, loss or damage of any shows entered into the competition.
CONSENT AND COPYRIGHT
The entrant must be the sole author of the copyright. By entering your show into the competition, you grant to NWCCC the right to use your show for promotions and/or posting on the NWCCC web site. The photographer will be credited whenever possible. The ownership of the show will remain the photographers.
